Creative PowerPoint Training
Concentrating on slide
layouts, using and adhering to style and brand guide
lines, formatting presentations and creating bespoke
templates from scratch.
This course is different from other courses
as it tries to steer users away from elements such as 'clip
art’ and ‘word art’ which can add to the 'tackey' and amaturish reputation PowerPoint gets, and towards producing well layed out slides quickly and simply.
The course can also be completely tailored to
your organisations needs, template, brand guidelines and presentation requierments.
All of the sessions concentrate on raising the level of PowerPoint
by explaining how the programme works, do’s
and don’ts and introducing basic graphic design tips and
tricks which are quick to master and easy to apply.
The following are some examples of how sessions could
be structured, although each and every training session
will vary according to organisations and individuals needs
and we will tailor accordingly.
Basic Training:
The first part of training will concentrate on the basic
techniques used in PowerPoint, explaining how the programme works and basic skills which are needed to
create the basis of any professional presentation. This
will cover using master slides, the importance of using
templates, guide lines, alignment, text boxes, charts and
tables.
After this part of training delegates will have a good
knowledge of what to do and what not to do when creating
and formatting a presentation, and how a professional
presentation should be structured. They will be
able to look for and correct basic mistakes and to create a
seamless presentation within a template.
Bespoke Training:
The next part of training will be using the organisations
existing template and pre-designed style guides and
library slides. The delegates will be taught how to apply
the style guides to a presentation and how to insert and
edit library slides. More advanced training will be given
on how to source and creatively work with graphics and
images and how to edit charts, tables and graphs. It will
also cover how to prepare presentations for print.
After this part of the training delegates will have a good
knowledge of the organisations style/brand guidelines
and template and how to apply and adhere to these
when working in PowerPoint. Staff will be much more
confident creating and formatting slides and the benefits
for the rganisation will include:
- Efficiency and speed to which slides can be
created and formatted will be greatly improved
using pre-designed styles and layouts
- Using a style guide will encourage a consistent
look across all users and presentations which will
enhance and enforce brand image
-
Slides and presentations will look altogether more
professional
Advanced Training:
Advanced training will cover how to create bespoke
presentations from scratch and will cover the design of
master slides, templates and style guides, how to create
colour charts, sourcing and manipulating images and
graphics, how to make PowerPoint ‘not look like Power-
Point’, interactive presentations and creative effects.
It
will also cover how to design presentations especially for
print.
At the end of this session users will be confident in creating
a template from scratch and on brief working with
logos, images and colour charts to create a professional
and creative template. They will also learn the techniques
needed to create ‘stand out’ slides, diagrams and
charts.
